CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

UPDATE: July 11, 2005

Authors can submit their final accepted papers directly to the jounal via the web by clicking on the 'Submit an article' link on the left of the journal homepage: physbio.iop.org
The name of the workshop should be included in the 'Special issue details' box if using the web submission

Alternatively papers can be sent by email to: physbio@iop.org
The name of the workshop should be included in the subject line of the email.

We look forward to receiving the papers.

The conference proceedings will be published in Physical Biology, a new online journal published by the Institute of Physics. It has just been announced that the articles in Physical Biology are now being idexed on MEDLINE. Each participant will receive a bound copy of the complete proceedings.

As part of our agreement with the publishers, the articles will be freely available electronically for the first three months after publication, increasing significantly the impact of the proceedings.

Manuscripts should be submitted upon arrival at the workshop. This will allow us to distribute them immediately for reviewing at the workshop. The final version of the manuscript should be received at the latest by 15 June 2005.  We expect to have the proceedings online at the end of August.

We anticipate that these proceedings will serve as a reference collection. As such, we ask the authors to be pedagogical and offer a general overview that cannot always be achieved in purely research papers, while staying as much as possible at the cutting edge. Papers should count a maximum of 10 pages, once in publication format. More information about the format can be found here.

The journal accepts both Latex and MS Word files. Latex style files are available here. It is possible and encouraged to use color for the online production, which is the primary version, as this is an online journal. The paper copy will be black and white.

We will be equipped at the conference to print black and white. However, to simplify the procedure, please bring with you two printed copies of your manuscript in color for the review process. We will also ask you to send us an electronic version of your manuscript, as soon as it is ready to the conference coordinator Margaret Stuart.
