** NEW ** NSF Report

This report provides guidance to both the NSF and to the broader theory community. The three-day workshop began with plenary talks on the Sunday afternoon. The remainder of the workshop consisted of break-out sessions and discussions. The break-out sessions were structured around the areas shown in the side-bar to the right.
The objective of the workshop was to discuss the unique role that theorists can play in the emerging field at the interface between the biological and the physical sciences. The workshop was supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and sponsors include: Bruce Taggart and Daryl Hess, Materials Theory Program:(Division of Materials Research); Denise Caldwell, Biological Physics Program, (Physics Division); Kamal Shukla, Molecular Biophysics Program, (Molecular and Cellular Biosciences Division) and Henry Blount, Office of Mutidisciplinary Activities (Mathematical and Physical Sciences Directorate).
